Planning Division Mission Statement
The mission of the Planning Division is to provide professional land use planning services
to implement the community's long-term vision for Truckee.
SERVICE
The Planning Division strives to inform, educate and assist decision-making bodies and the
public in all elements of land use planning in a courteous, efficient, equitable and
professional manner.
PEOPLE
The Planning Division recognizes the diverse and competing interests within the community
and the necessity to consider and incorporate these interests within the planning process
by encouraging and facilitating participation.
EXCELLENCE
The Planning Division encourages innovative, flexible and creative approaches to the
planning process. The Division is committed to continued education and training to remain
the forefront of the planning profession.
COMMUNICATION
The Planning Division acknowledges land use planning as a community-driven process and the
continuing need to promote open communication with the community. The Division will strive
to actively promote community participation, interaction and dialogue throughout the
planning process.
TEAMWORK
The Planning Division will participate in a collaborative effort with other supporting
departments, agencies and individuals throughout the planning process.
